General Recommendations & Requirements for Admissions
Bates College accepts both Common and Coalition applications submitted online alongside a supplemental application essay. Applicants must include secondary school transcripts, a counselor recommendation and two teacher recommendations. Standardized test scores are optional but can be submitted for consideration. Additional supplemental materials can be submitted but may not be considered by the admissions staff.
Bates College accepts both exclusive Early Decision applicants by November 15 as well as standard applicants who submit their applications by January 1. The college also maintains a wait list for applicants who did not get in but would like to try again when space becomes available.
