General Recommendations & Requirements for Admissions
Students can apply using the Coalition Application, Common Application or the Universal College Application. The Princeton Supplement should also be completed for all of these applications.Applicants must submit a graded writing sample from their high school coursework, preferably from an English or History class.
A School Report, Counselor Recommendation and official transcript should all be sent from the guidance office. The transcript should include the following coursework if the high school program allows:
- Four years of English, including continued practice in writing
- Four years of Mathematics, including calculus for students interested in engineering
- Four years of the same Foreign Language
- Two years or more of Laboratory Science, including physics and chemistry for students interested in engineering
- Two years or more of History
- Some study in the visual arts
A midyear school report should be sent after seventh semester grades are available. Two teacher recommendations from instructors in higher-level subjects should be submitted. Applicants need to submit either SAT or ACT results. Two SAT subject tests are recommended. It is recommended for applicants to complete an admissions interview if one is offered to them.
